Software project management is an art and science of planning and leading software projects. It is a sub-discipline of project management in which software projects are planned, implemented, monitored and controlled.
The biggest difference between software project management and project management, in general, is the uncertainty over the whole lifetime of the project. First, the need of the customer is uncertain. The customer doesn’t know what s/he truly wants until you show him/her a software. Second, the solution is uncertain.
