Tip #1 – Maintenance Supervisor Duties

A maintenance supervisor should know the work scheduled for their maintenance staff prior to the day’s start of his/her shift and must review it with the planner the day prior to ensure the next morning all maintenance technicians are aware of their work for the day, parts are staged, tools are available, and all coordination has been previously completed.
One hour before the morning’s shift a maintenance supervisor ensures nothing has changed before their technicians are ready for work. The maintenance supervisor will receive an update of conditions or problems which happened overnight from their shift personnel and production/operations supervision to ensure the work scheduled for the day will go as planned when the technicians arrive at work.
